There was this guy sweetest one you could hope to be   
But he had thoughts that would make the bravest meek   
But loved and cared like most others never dared   
And today he's dead because no one cared   
He laughed and hoped and opened the eyes of those who couldn't see   
Now they will never see him or what he could be   
But I knew and I promise that I'll never forget   
I sit here writing his words of regret   
He wished he could have loved so much more   
And said he was glad in what he died for   
He didn't die for country or the power
